What is a passionfruit caipiroska?
A Passionfruit Caipiroska is a cocktail that combines the flavours of passionfruit with a traditional Caipiroska. A Caipiroska is a variation of the Caipirinha, a popular Brazilian cocktail. The Caipiroska replaces the traditional Brazilian spirit, cachaça, with vodka.
To make our Passionfruit Caipiroska, you start by muddling fresh lime slices with sugar in a glass to release the fruit’s juice and aroma. Then, you add passionfruit pulp, ice, passionfruit flavoured soft drink and pour vodka over the mixture. The drink is stirred or shaken to combine the ingredients well.
The result is a refreshing and fruity cocktail with the distinctive taste of passionfruit and the kick of vodka. It’s a popular choice for those who enjoy tropical and exotic flavours in their drinks.

- Lime – you could always use lemon too!
- Brown sugar – you could always use white sugar or caster sugar here
- Passionfruit– you will need at least 2 large heavy passionfruit plus another for garnish if yo u like. To remove pulp, slice passionfruit in half and scoop it out using a teaspoon.
- Vodka – your favourite or a good quality one
- Ice – about 8 large or less for smaller
- Passionfruit flavoured soft drink – we used Kirks Pasito brand available from supermarkets
- Fresh mint – to garnish (optional but recommended)
How to make
With only 3 quick steps you will be sipping on these cocktails quicker than you could order one!
- Muddle – Place lime and brown sugar into a cocktail shaker. Muddle gently using the base of wooden spoon or a muddler to release the lime juice and combine with the sugar.
- Shake – Add the passionfruit pulp, Vodka and about 8 ice cubes. Shake, shake, shake!!
- Pour – Divide mixture between 2 serving glasses. Top each glass with chilled passionfruit soft drink to fill. Garnish with fresh mint leaves and serve.

- 1 lime, halved and thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 2 large passionfruit, pulped
- 80ml Vodka
- Ice cubes, crushed (you can also leave them whole)
- Passionfruit flavoured soft drink, to top up each glass (We used Kirks Pasito)
- Mint leaves, to garnish
Instructions
- Place lime and brown sugar into a cocktail shaker. Muddle gently using the base of wooden spoon or a muddler to release the lime juice and combine with the sugar.
- Add the passionfruit pulp, Vodka and crushed ice. Shake, shake, shake!!
- Divide mixture between 2 serving glasses. Top each glass with chilled passionfruit softdrink to fill. Garnish with fresh mint leaves and serve.
Notes
- MEASUREMENTS
We use Australian metric measurements. 1 teaspoon = 5ml, 1 tablespoon = 20ml and 1 cup = 250ml
We use free range extra large size eggs. Each egg weighs approximately 59g.
